Here's a picture of the kids with the cousins, Madilyn and Abigail. They stopped by for lunch on their way to Arizona, and the kids loved playing together. Michael was the lone little man in the group, and took a while to warm up, especially since the big girls were playing princesses. Eventually he and Abigail got to play cars together. :)

Since the weather has been a lot nicer lately, we've been reading books and using play-dough a lot less, and running around with friends and working in the yard a lot more. The kids love to be outside and Michael is especially attached to his blue hat.

A few days ago our neighbor friends put up their little pool and turned on their sprinklers for the kids. Evie didn't want to sit in the pool, but she liked to stand there and splash and stomp her feet.

We went to a splash park yesterday, where they had composite rubber flooring in the park, with pipes spraying water and small sprinklers out of the ground for the kids to run through and splash. Everyone had a great time. Evie loved the water, but once she found out we had orange slices, she stayed by the food.

Hello everyone! First we have some pictures of the kids in their church clothes. Michael wanted to be doing something else, so he's not very happy about this, but its funny. Next we have some movies of the kids on the neighborhood Easter egg hunt. Evie didn't really understand the idea of getting multiple eggs. She held onto the first one for awhile and wouldn't let Daddy put it in her bag. Molly is learning her letters and wants to type her name: MOLLY She can write her name and some other letters too. Michael is going through potty training, and is having success but not total independence yet.

We had a lot of fun playing in the snow the last couple of weeks. Today we got dumped on again, and it still hasn't stopped. Little Evie even ate snow for the first time! :) And there's a picture of Evie liking to crawl into the dishwasher.

Well we're settling into our new home in Lindon and the kids are loving the backyard, although the chickens have slowed their egg laying. (Something to do with stress) Em's growing her garden and we work with our neighbors, William and Ana, to make the garden look nice. We've also added Mathew (my younger brother) to the family numbers. He'll be staying with us for awhile and already Michael and Molly call "Maphew" to come and play with them. Well keep enjoying the summer and Happy 4th of July to you all.

We're Back

After a very crazy couple of months we're back in the blogging world. The biggest reason for the drought was I (Christopher) was hogging the computer for school. I finished up my first year of teaching and accepted a job at the school that I interned at. So now I am done, graduated, and employed. A rare thing in this age. We have also moved into a house (no we didn't buy, still renting). We're almost done with the boxes and we're getting into a small sense of normalacy. Our summer has been busy with me teaching summer school and all the moving stuff. But Emily is excited because there is room behind the house to plant a garden and so she'll hopefully get to do some gardening this year and canning. The kids (Molly and Michael) love playing in the backyard and watching daddy ride the lawnmower. Included are some pictures of the kids with the fam. We'll have some of the house and the fam in our next post. Thank you for being patient, we're alive and everyone is doing well. I hope the same can be said for yourselves.

Here are a few odds and ends to catch up after all this time. Three kids keep us busy, especially as they've been sick a lot lately.

Our cousin, Cody, works at the BYU Paleontology (how do you spell that?) Museum. I took the kids there, and he gave us the VIP tour, "behind the scenes"---showing us fossils being cleaned up and telling the stories behind some of the finds. Michael's most common words used were "wow", "ROAR!" and "teeth". We all had a great time!

And we celebrated Molly's birthday, with a few of her little friends from Church. It was my first "friend" party for one of the kids, so I was really busy, so my photo taking wasn't as extensive as usual.

One last thing...I put Molly in her room to take a nap, because she was being particularly grumpy. I didn't think she'd actually fall asleep, but at least she'd get some quiet time. The kids sure love little Evie. They both try to help a lot, from giving her toys to reminding me to hurry when she cries, because "baby Evie need food". Sometimes its a little too much help, but always a sweet thought.

New Arrival!!

Little Evelyn Beth Ross joined our family in the wee hours of the morning. She had a few problems, and was in the NICU for two days, but got released to the well baby nursery before we were discharged two days later. I went into labor Friday night, but still had a C-section, which has been healing nicely. Molly and Michael like Evelyn a lot, and don't have too much trouble with her yet, except for being too rough. For some reason, Michael especially likes to look at her toes. :) Having three small children is definitely a challenge, but my mom has been here to help, which is a lifesaver. We all sure love our new little girl. Enjoy the pictures!

Mostly Waiting

Here's another update; I know its been a long time. Today Molly got to play with friends Anne and Eliza with our little play kitchen, which she was really excited about. Michael has been getting over a nasty fever, so he was sleeping when the girls were over. He's mostly better, except for his normally sunny disposition, which is still a bit sour.

We haven't done too many unusual things lately; mostly just getting ready for the arrival of new baby on Dec 3...only TEN DAYS away! Christopher feeds me pineapple, tells me to vacuum, and other things to hopefully hurry this baby along. I'm ready to be done, but nothing's happened yet.

This is just a quick note to celebrate another milestone. We're scheduled to have baby #3 by C-section on December 3rd (unless I get lucky and go into labor before that), so that means B-day is less than a month away! It feels so much better knowing its that close. We can hardly wait to meet our new little girl!

Molly got pretty good at saying her lines right and impressing everyone with her cute witch costume. I know its been a long time since we've updated, so we'll try and do it a bit at a time. Molly got her first haircut, and now its still cute, but also a lot easier for Mama to brush.

Christopher went catfishing all-night one weekend and caught a record-breaker, at least for our family. It was 30inches long...or was it 34...0r 36? (They're fishermen. :)

We also got a visit from Grandma Mary, Grandpa Doug, and Aunt Ali. Everyone had a great time, and we were sad to see them go.

We've also had some fun on our everyday days. Molly and Michael are playing together more, and Molly is beating up on him a bit less, both of which make us very happy. They like to push around the chairs from the play kitchen, pretending that they're train engines.

Yes, folks, we're having a new baby! I'm due for Third Baby Ross' arrival on December 10th of this year. Check out the new baby tracker on the right for the countdown. (For some reason, it took me what seemed like forever to get this widget to add to our blog, so its appearance is also a personal victory for me.) I'm excited that today is the halfway point, and also a little sad that its only the halfway point...some of you know what I mean. We don't know the gender yet, but check for that next week, if you want. Our ultrasound appointment is on Tuesday.

I know its been a long time since we've updated, but here it is at last. We moved at the end of June to a spacious basement apartment in our friends' house, which we enjoy, and have been pretty busy settling in. Just at the end of last week we unpacked AND put away the contents of our last boxes. It took the kids a couple of weeks to feel at home here, and we had a few nights of nightmares. Now things are getting back into a routine, and we're trying to enjoy the new neighborhood and the good weather.

The week before the 4th of July we went to stake softball, and both of the kids wanted to play like Daddy. Molly's got quite a good arm for only being 2, and Michael admired the shiny bats. I got about a dozen bug bites on my legs, and Christopher hit quite a few balls over the outfielders' heads.

Well it seems that it's gotten to a once a month posting in many cases. Sorry and oh well. We spent our weekend in Manti attending the wedding of one of the crazy red-headed cousins from wyoming. Molly got to play with her favorite buddy Steph, and Michael and daddy got to hang out and be silly. Molly stole the spotlight more than once and could do no wrong (Diva for get anything you want). In between the wedding and the reception Christopher, Cody, and Steph stole away to take care of some pesky rock-chucks and prarie dogs. Christopher came back with a big grin on his face so it must've gone well. So here are some pictures to enjoy and videos. Hope the summer is exciting and safe for you all.

Well we've fallen behind with our blogging. Hopefully with our summer starting that we'll have more time to update the blog and keep the pictures and movies coming. I finished the craziest semester of my college career and my last full semester. I'm now finishing up general classes and getting ready to start teaching junior high next fall. The kids are glad to have daddy around more and i'm glad to be done with the rat race. I included a few movies to celebrate Michael's big moment. Hope you enjoy.

We've been doing a lot more with cousin Cody and Steph. The other day Steph brought Molly a ton of tiny star stickers, which where a bit hit. Molly covered the two of them with stickers, and had fun doing Steph's hair.

Molly's favorite new thing is to pretend to be a doggie. Here is "Little Doggie" eating her snack of Kix cereal. She usually wants me to be the "Momma Doggie".

Next up was a big day in my life...the first time I shot the Henry Rifle! Fortunately, the .22 bullets don't leave a painful recoil, so I wasn't bruised from the experience, and the world is now rid of a small pack of soda cans.

Long Awaited Post...

Here we are again after a long break. To make up for it, I'll put a few more things on this post than we normally do, so I hope you're ready for it!

First off, the other day I set Molly up at the table with a snack, and left to go to the bathroom. I was only gone for two or three minutes, but when I got back, I saw this:

I know we haven't posted for a while, so here's a brief update. Christopher is working hard at school and being very organized...he's got a lot of classes this semester, some of them very difficult (like two Chem classes). Its hard work but he's holding up well. Molly is talking more and more, and trying to copy everything we do. When I exercise and do stretches, she lays down on the floor and copies my actions. She also understands her colors and was sorting her red blocks and her yellow blocks the other day. Michael is getting so close to crawling, but doesn't seem to understand why the walls keep getting in the way. :) I (yes, its Emily posting again) am trading skills with a friend of mine: she teaches me and Christopher ASL once a week, and I help her with sewing. Both parts have been lots of fun, and Molly and her daughter love to play together while we grown ups do our thing. (The first video below is of them dancing that I took just today; the second is Molly having an in depth conversation with Michael. They're already talking about me. :) That's us for now. Hello all and Happy New Year. We are enjoying a nice relaxing day in "Happy Valley" to start our new year off right. We ended 2008 watching one of our favorite movies "Back to the Future" and paused to watch the ball drop (rebroadcasted) at midnight. Today being the first day of the new year we decided to do a first for Michael. He had his first cereal. He actually seemed to enjoy it and it looks like he'll be enjoying it more often. Hope everyone else is enjoying the new year and we pray for your safety.

Snowy Christmas

Hello all,
Apologize for the long wait. We've been dealing with getting done with the semester and all the fun that that entails. As of the 20th of this month we've been on the road visiting family. We stopped off in Riverdale, Idaho to enjoy a few days with the Packers and Francoms. While we were there we were hit with a small blizzard. After it mellowed we hit the road and navigated to Twin Falls where my sister Kathryn and her husband Doug live. Since we have arrived we have enjoyed their hospitality and the surroundings.
Molly has decided that she doesn't like snowmobiles as i was unsuccessful in letting her ride. Included is a picture of kathryn and doug standing apart from each other. That represents the distance doug went flying on his snowmobile.
Christmas was great with family and Molly and Michael enjoyed it. The kids both enjoy one of Doug's presents and that is the soundtrack for High School Musical 3. Go figure.
As of right now we've probably had almost a foot and a half of snow has fallen since we've been here and it's still snowing rather hard. We hope to head for Utah on Monday, but if the weather stays as white as it has been then we'll enjoy the Yearsley's another day. We wish everyone a happy Christmas (belated) and a safe and prosperous New Year. Send us your comments on what you have enjoyed about the holidays and hope that you are all safe and warm.

Hello Everyone! (Emily posting again) We spent the Thanksgiving Holiday at our cousin's ranch in Wyoming. Christopher spent some times outdoors trapping and hunting with the guys. Molly loves the animals and discovered some new ones this trip: the flock of sheep.

All Hallows' Eve

Well we had a great day on Friday the 31st of October. We did some celebrating earlier with the ward party on Tuesday and overall the two little ones had a great time. Also Molly and Momma and little Michael have been playing in the leaves while daddy is in school. I'm jealous. Molly knows that I'm at school because when Emily drives by a school or Molly sees a guy on a bicycle she points and says "Da Da". So i've made an impression on her.

Well, I (Emily) finally managed to subdue Christopher long enough to make a little blog entry (usually he's the narrator here). Yeah! :) Here is the latest family picture. The kids are growing like weeds, and learning all sorts of new things. Molly loves going to the park, and now loves to go down the slides all on her own. She also enjoys hiding in her forts, reading books, and making "food" for her stuffed animals.

The past weekend we ventured up to our favorite oasis from the chaos of college and played in the crisp wyoming countryside. Molly loves Trish's cat (Midgy) and is learning to give Stiches (the dog) orders. Also included are some pictures of the family that Trish's talented eye caught (Molly was in a foul mood). Daddy's Stress Relief

So here's a short blip to show what Daddy does to relieve stress. The picture of me shows a Sharps rifle. If anyone has seen Quigley Down Under then they'll recognize this as Quigley's gun. Also I provided a video of the shooting buddies i went with recently. The first guy seen is holding an AR-15 and we pan across to the gentleman laying down who is shooting a .308. So yeah it's nothing big but it's what daddy does for fun.

Week of Events

Well we have come to another sunday to start another week, but first...we want to share with you a recap of our adventures over the week. We enjoyed family in town for most of the week ( as seen by pictures) and we spent time at the cousin's ranch in wyoming. Molly loved playing with the animals and daddy got to do plenty of shooting and fishing. Momma was able to relax, and little brother enjoyed the attention. Then when we returned home i went to my cousin's wedding on saturday morning. It was a beautiful ceremony and they look like a great couple. So there you have it folks. A short summary of many wonderful events.

Michael was warmly welcomed into the family on the 27th of July. Family from both sides converged on our little abode and there was much fun to be had. We had four generations of Ross boys and family from far and near. We wish to thank all who helped to make the event so enjoyable and memorable. Molly was very excited to have so many people to spoil her. Included are pictures and movie. Well little Michael is on the up and up. His heart murmur is gone and all the monitors and wires are off of him. So he's doing great. He's doing well with his feedings and still gets a little impatient but he is moving right along. Emily is also doing well. She's up and walking about so the two of them are having some quality bonding time. Meanwhile, Molly has been enjoying a lot of one-on-one time with friends and family who have generously volunteered to watch her as I play tagteam between the hospital and home. She liked the pictures of Michael but I don't think she'll get it for awhile. Anywho, there's your update folks, I'll have some more pictures with the next entry, but in the meantime I figured I would let you all know that everyone is doing fine.

New Arrival

Well Michael Douglas Ross has decided to join the crew. He arrived this morning at 8:04 am weighing 8 lbs. 7 ounces. He's also 22" long with red hair and big blue eyes. Mom is doing well and recovering nicely. Little guy is still in the NICU because his ductus arteriosus isn't closed all the way. That's the valve that shuts to allow blood to the lungs when you are born. So they're monitoring it, because it's also causing a heart murmur, and hopefully the valve will close. But here are some pictures and we'll send more as we get them.

Squaw Peak

So I had another hiking adventure with Dave. This time to the top of squaw peak. For those who have seen our previous adventures we didn't come across any wildlife this time. But we learned that i never fill my camelback up when we go on these things. and that batteries are not to be trusted, as dave found out. But here are some pictures and as always we hope you enjoy.

Slate Canyon Hike

So the day after the 4th Dave and I decided to go hike one of the canyons that make up the eastern horizon. We chose Slate Canyon and hiked two miles and three thousand feet to the end of the canyon. Sadly there weren't any off-trails so we had to turn around and hike back. On the way back we found a little feller that roams these trails. Dave was intent on making the little guy put on a show and thus was the result.

July the 4th (Part Deux)

After the parade we headed over to a friends to grill Brats and Dogs. Molly loved playing in the sprinkler with Auntie Erin and smelling the flowers. After we were stuffed to the rafters we four-wheeled it to the top of the Bonneville Bench to overlook Provo and see the F-16 flyby from Hill. We also had a great seat for the fireworks from the stadium. While we waited we had to find some way to entertain the little one, and watermelon was the answer.

Well the little mollyfish went swimming in the community pool for the first time. with the help of mom, dad, and auntie Erin we all had a great time. She's learning to "kick kick" and she loves to make splashes. She takes after both her grandpapa's who love to go swimming. She loves both of them very much and she posed for cute pictures for their grand "fathers" day. She is also very much loved by her Heavenly Father and me...her father. Week of firsts...

Well we had the opportunity this week of some unusual first. The first...we had someone break into our apartment Thursday morning. We didn't put two and two together till Friday when our manager pointed out that our back window in Molly's room had lost its' screen. So we had the privilege of filing our first police report. Sadly we didn't notice anything missing till later that night after the police had come and gone. The fink made off with my portable dvd player (which wouldn't work unless you jiggled the plug just right :-). And he made off with two of my watches (both of which were waiting on new batteries before they would work again). So thankfully nobody was hurt, and we think Emily may have scared him off when she came home with the groceries. Oh, and today i found out i couldn't find my backpack, so the punk used my backpack (empty) to cart of my own stuff. Talk about cruel irony. Anywho, thought we would report on our very interesting week of firsts. And don't worry we are all ok.

1st steps

Well Molly has now entered the walking world. She has been learning how to walk while holding on to things, but just yesterday she branched out and started going solo. Here's the video of her first steps, hope you enjoy.

California Hiatus

Well we survived our spur of the moment trip to San Diego last weekend. We came with only one thing in mind: getting beach time. This was our last hurrah before we hunker down for baby #2. It wasn't originally planned for last weekend but that is when it happened, and it so happened to coinside with Mother's day. So Momma got to spend her mother's day enjoying the nice weather in San Diego. We spent saturday with the Winn's (a family i knew from my mission) down in Imperial Beach surfing and playing in the sand. Then on Sunday we went to one of the ward's i served in, and spent time staying with the Morgan's (another family i knew). So now that we've had our fun we are back in "Happy Valley" and enjoying the fact that it has decided to be warmer here. So tatah for now.

Well we now have movies up of Molly. Hope you enjoy. We're doing well here in Utah. We finally have some spring weather and hope it doesn't turn into snow like it has for the last two weeks. Molly has been battling a bug that makes her not feel so good in her tummy. And Emily and I had our first trip to the hospital for Michael. It was at least nice to get all the paperwork out of the way for when we do come in for the baby. I'm taking one class this spring (Organic Chemistry) and working as a dishwasher in the cafeteria at the temple. Other than that we are trying to get ready for our trip out to San Diego this weekend. We're excited and we'll post all the pictures once we get back. Till then...
